Sweet cornbread

Golden, buttery cornbread with a tender crumb and a sweet note of honey. Watch the video above for Chef John's method.

  • all-purpose flour150 g
  • baking powder2 tsp
  • salt½ tsp
  • eggs2
  • milk240 ml
  • butter, melted80 g
  • honey3 tbsp
Method
  1. 1

    Heat the oven to 200°C (392°F) and grease a tin (about 20×20 cm).

    Whisk the cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt.

    Mix the eggs, milk, melted butter and honey, fold into the dry.

  4. 4

    Pour into the tin and bake 20–25 minutes until golden.
