Chocolate mug cake (microwave)
A single serving of warm, moist chocolate cake in under five minutes, stirred right in the mug, no oven. Watch the video above for Gemma's method.

- granulated sugar3 tbsp
- cocoa powder2 tbsp
- baking powder1 ml
- salt1 pinch
- milk3 tbsp
- neutral oil2 tbsp
- vanilla extract¼ tsp
- chocolate chips (optional)1 tbsp

Stir the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt together directly in a large mug.

Add the milk, oil and vanilla. Stir until the batter is smooth with no dry pockets left.

Scatter over the chocolate chips if using. Microwave on full power 60–90 seconds until the top is just set.

Let it rest a minute. It keeps cooking in the mug. Eat right away, ideally with a scoop of ice cream. See the video for tips.
